54 Bones
54 Bones is a gestural performance sound art installation by Jamie Moore, Olivia Louvel, Dominic Rae and Duncan Cabral, based on movements from British Sign Language. It is conceptually based around ideas of communication, identity and extension of the moment. The installation is designed to be directly performed to a single participant. It utilises Mi.Mu gloves, routing gestural data through dedicated software to trigger samples in Ableton Live. All sounds heard are produced by the hands and the human voice, linking to themes of identity and communication. It was performed art ONCA gallery as part of Brighton Digital Festival. With thanks to Brighton University and Mi.Mu. for supplying the gloves.
